Customer Delivery Driver - Harlow

About the Role

Serving as the direct representative of Tesco on the road, the Customer Delivery Driver role involves visiting customers at their homes daily. This position extends far beyond just driving; it emphasizes assisting customers and providing exceptional, friendly service consistently. The role demands physical activity and varies with each shift, offering dynamic responsibilities. Drivers primarily operate independently but have the support of managers and teammates at the base when needed.

Working Hours

• Sunday: 6 PM to 10 PM
• Monday: 6 PM to 11 PM
• Tuesday: 9 AM to 7 PM
• Friday: 6 PM to 10 PM
• Saturday: 9 AM to 7 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of vans, trays, and work areas ensuring all deliveries reach customers in perfect condition.
• Load the delivery van safely and conduct all necessary vehicle checks to confirm readiness and roadworthiness.
• Communicate politely and clearly with customers regarding any order adjustments, substitutions, or near-expiry items, and process refunds when necessary to ensure seamless service.
• Handle all products with care, guaranteeing that each order's quality is upheld and customer trust is maintained.
• Deliver orders punctually within scheduled time slots, offering warm and personable interactions at customers' doorsteps, ensuring they feel appreciated and well-served.

Candidate Requirements

• Establish and nurture positive working relationships with colleagues to foster teamwork and deliver top-notch customer service.
• Exhibit friendly and approachable behavior towards both customers and coworkers.
• Adapt quickly to evolving customer needs and embrace changes both on the road and in-store.
• Possess a valid UK, EU, or EEA driving license (full or automatic) held for at least 12 months with no more than three penalty points.
