Job Summary
The Correspondence Posting Specialist Trainee will manage the financial intake process for Ventra Health's clients. Responsible for handling 13 to 14 assigned facilities or clients, the role requires meeting a six-day turnaround time and posting all deposits for the current month before the month-end deadline. Compliance with billing laws and billing standards is essential, alongside working collaboratively to ensure high-quality service for clients nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Post accounts payable deposits accurately.
- Process electronic 835 files and manual payer Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statements, including posting insurance allowances, patient payments, denials, adjustments, contractual allowances, recoups, and forward balances.
- Interpret EOB remittance codes and apply proper denial codes as needed.
- Ensure timely balancing and closure of payment batches.
- Access various websites to retrieve EOBs.
- Assist with special projects and other tasks as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum two years’ experience posting insurance payments in a healthcare environment.
- Preferred two years’ familiarity with insurance EOB statements.
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of different insurance payer types.
- Understanding of Explanation of Benefits documents.
- Strong skills in balancing and financial reconciliation.
- Proficient use of a 10-key calculator.
- Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong mathematical aptitude.
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
- Capability to understand and apply relevant state and federal laws, regulations, and policies.
- Flexibility and ability to work productively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Professional communication skills with a range of personalities.
