Role Overview

An energy and policy-focused organization is looking for a meticulous Temporary Copy Editor to enhance the quality of research reports, policy documents, and proposal materials. The editor will ensure all written content is clear, consistent, and accurate for audiences including policymakers, regulators, and advocates.

Key Responsibilities

• Carefully proofread and edit various materials such as research papers, white papers, proposals, and other publications to improve grammar, clarity, style, and uniformity.
• Enforce adherence to the company's style guidelines and formatting rules.
• Verify the accuracy and consistency of citations, tables, figures, and footnotes.
• Work collaboratively with authors to refine language while maintaining technical accuracy.
• Meet demanding publication deadlines through precise, high-quality editing.
• Adapt proposal templates to meet the specific requirements of requests for proposals (RFPs).
• Maintain and update proposal documentation as necessary.

Candidate Requirements

• Prior experience editing technical, policy, or research-oriented documents.
• Exceptional attention to detail with mastery of grammar and style conventions.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, including use of styles, track changes, and complex formatting.
• Capability to handle multiple projects concurrently.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Agent tools is a plus.
• Interest or background in energy, environment, or public policy sectors is desirable.
• Experience in compiling content for proposals and responses to RFPs.
• Familiarity with AI technologies is advantageous.
