Role Overview

The Control Tower Operator is tasked with the ongoing observation and management of temperature control and GPS tracking systems. This role ensures timely detection and resolution of any deviations or emergencies affecting product integrity during transportation and storage. Maintaining detailed records and coordinating with various teams to manage incidents are vital components of the position.

Key Responsibilities

• Constantly oversee cold room temperature systems, GPS trackers, and temperature alarms to identify irregularities or alerts.
• Escalate deviations, emergencies, and critical issues promptly to management and other stakeholders as per established protocols.
• Track truck refrigeration and fleet routes to detect temperature changes, route discrepancies, and transportation problems.
• Work closely with drivers during vehicle malfunctions or emergencies to maintain temperature control continuously.
• Ensure monitoring systems are functioning properly and report any failures or communication losses immediately.
• Monitor for operational disruptions such as network or power outages that could affect system performance.
• Communicate effectively with warehouse, transportation, maintenance teams, and drivers to resolve issues expeditiously.
• Adhere rigorously to company procedures, policies, and escalation guidelines related to deviations and crises.
• Document and prepare comprehensive reports on temperature excursions, route variances, and emergencies, including analysis and corrective measures.
• Collaborate with warehouse personnel to investigate root causes of temperature deviations, differentiating between operational and equipment faults.
• Maintain accurate logs of temperature data, fleet information, incident documentation, and provide support during emergency situations.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Operations Management, or similar disciplines.
• Between one to three years' experience in Control Tower operations, temperature monitoring, GPS tracking, or related fields, including prior exposure to warehouse operations and cold storage equipment.
