About the Role
The Contract Manager will oversee all contract-related and commercial facets of mall development projects, ensuring strict adherence to UAE laws and protecting company interests while enabling smooth project execution according to Mirage standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline
- More than 12 years managing contracts in large-scale mall, retail, or mixed-use developments within the UAE or GCC region
- Deep understanding of UAE construction laws, commercial regulations, and contract norms
- Extensive familiarity with FIDIC and other industry standard contract formats
- Demonstrated capability in handling complex claims and resolving disputes
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the entire contract lifecycle for mall development projects from drafting and negotiation through execution, administration, and closeout
- Draft, assess, and negotiate contracts with contractors, consultants, suppliers, and service providers ensuring compliance with UAE legal standards
- Guarantee all contracts comply with UAE construction laws, commercial statutes, and local authority regulations
- Administer FIDIC and related standard contract forms ensuring correct application across projects
- Identify and mitigate contractual and commercial risks effectively
- Handle variations, claims, extensions of time, and dispute resolution following UAE legal practices
- Collaborate with legal advisors to assure contracts are enforceable under UAE jurisdiction
- Monitor performance of contractors and consultants to verify fulfillment of contractual duties
- Assist procurement and tendering activities, including contract documentation preparation and bid evaluation
- Ensure contractual compliance with UAE labor laws concerning contractors and subcontractors
- Maintain comprehensive contract records meeting audit and regulatory needs
- Advise internal teams and senior management on commercial and contractual matters
