Content Project Manager

Overview

This role is for a Content Project Manager position based in the United States, offered through a partner company that handles all applications and follow-up processes. The primary responsibility is managing educational content delivery from author engagement to publication, ensuring a smooth and high-quality process.

Responsibilities

• Handle a portfolio of contracted authors, acting as the main contact throughout content creation projects.
• Facilitate author onboarding and project initiations, maintaining ongoing communication and resource support.
• Establish strong relationships by understanding author workflows and challenges.
• Monitor content projects at every phase, keeping detailed records and timelines.
• Track project progress, milestones, and timelines, proactively identifying risks or delays.
• Conduct publication readiness checks to verify content quality and compliance before release.
• Lead post-project evaluations to capture lessons learned and enhance processes.
• Utilize project data and tracking tools to assess project health, detect patterns, and report issues.
• Collaborate with production, curriculum, and internal teams to ensure smooth review and publishing transitions.
• Regularly update stakeholders on project status, risks, and provide actionable solutions.
• Contribute to ongoing improvements in content operations and overall team effectiveness.

Requirements

• At least 5 years’ experience in project coordination, content operations, editorial production, or related fields.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple simultaneous projects, including large portfolios.
• Skilled in early risk detection, proactive challenge communication, and steering projects to completion.
• Comfort with ambiguity and decision-making within set guidelines.
• Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail and precise project documentation.
• Experience using project management tools like Asana and Google Workspace.
• Quick adaptability to new systems and evolving workflows.
• Strong written and verbal communication capabilities and experience managing cross-team relationships.
• Collaborative mindset with a focus on team success and positive culture.
• Preferred experience collaborating with external contributors, contractors, or freelancers.
• Background in educational technology, online learning, content production, instructional design, or technical content is advantageous.
• Familiarity with topics such as software development, cloud computing, cybersecurity, AI, or data is a plus.
