Job description
About ClaimAngel
ClaimAngel operates a marketplace for Case Equity, facilitating access to funding for individuals with legal claims or injuries who face financial difficulties before case settlement. Our platform allows over 25 funders to compete offering a standardized rate.
Role Overview
The Claim Servicing Specialist role is a full-time remote position managing a portfolio of funded claims on the ClaimAngel platform throughout their lifecycle. This job is highly relationship-oriented and phone-centric, requiring ownership of a designated set of plaintiff law firms as the main contact at ClaimAngel.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary contact for assigned plaintiff law firms, building strong relationships with paralegals and case managers.
- Make high-volume outbound calls to law firms on a scheduled basis and respond to incoming calls.
- Engage with insurance companies and adjusters to collect and verify claim information including claim numbers, contacts, coverage types, and policy limits.
- Understand case-specific information needs and proactively investigate to obtain updates when parties become unresponsive.
- Track case progress across all legal stages: treatment, medical documentation, liens, demands, filings, discovery, mediation, trial, settlement, and payout.
- Review, verify, and maintain up-to-date claim records in internal and platform systems.
- Approve system-generated status reports within defined service timeframes.
- Identify and escalate risks or inconsistencies with proper documentation and maintain risk ratings.
- Ensure portfolio data is current, with no outdated records.
- Communicate trends and developments from firms back to sales and operations leadership.
- Comply with company policies and assist in improving claims servicing processes.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of two years working experience in plaintiff personal injury law firms, insurance defense, lien resolution, pre-settlement funding, or insurance claims.
- Familiarity with the progression of personal injury cases from representation letters to disbursement.
- Comfort and preference for frequent phone communication over emails in high-volume settings.
- Demonstrated ability to retrieve information persistently from unresponsive parties using independent research.
- Strong writing skills to document information for external financial partners.
- Close attention to detail when entering dates, monetary amounts, and names.
- Capacity to work autonomously in a remote setting, managing follow-up schedules and meeting deadlines without direct oversight.
- Proficient in CRM or case management platforms, and basic spreadsheet and report tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience specifically in claims servicing, legal funding, or related financial sectors.
- Working knowledge of HubSpot CRM.
- Spanish language proficiency.
- Background on the insurance carrier or adjuster side.
- Exposure to case management software such as SmartAdvocate, Litify, Filevine, or Clio.
- Experience reviewing or refining automated or AI-generated outputs.
