Civil Engineer

Job overview

We are looking for a seasoned Civil Engineer to support a construction team in Dubai. This position focuses on planning, executing, and overseeing building work while maintaining compliance with quality expectations, safety rules, target dates, and cost limits. The role calls for strong technical knowledge, hands-on site coordination, and regular interaction with clients, consultants, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily site operations and keep construction activities on track.
• Check drawings, technical specifications, and BOQs to make sure work is carried out correctly.
• Track progress against approved plans and schedules and support timely delivery.
• Liaise with architects, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure seamless execution.
• Follow local building regulations, quality requirements, and safety rules throughout the project.
• Carry out site checks and handle technical issues as they arise during construction.
• Prepare status updates, progress reports, and project records.
• Watch material consumption and help control project expenses by reducing waste.
• Confirm measurements, contractor invoices, and completion certificates.
• Make sure construction materials are ordered on time and available when needed.
• Spot project risks and apply corrective as well as preventive actions.
• Contribute to planning, scheduling, and allocation of manpower and other resources.
• Assist with handover activities and support successful completion of the project.

Required qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Professional certifications will be considered an advantage.
• Relevant experience of 3 to 8 years in civil, building, residential, commercial, or infrastructure construction projects is needed.
• Experience handling end-to-end project execution from foundation stage through handover is preferred.
• Ability to use AutoCAD confidently.
• Working knowledge of MS Project and Primavera is preferred.
• Good understanding of structural drawings and construction methods.
• Exposure to quantity surveying, estimation, BOQs, and billing processes.
• Knowledge of quality control practices and construction standards.
• Comfort with project planning, scheduling, and resource management.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Leadership, coordination, problem-solving, time management, and analytical thinking skills are important.
• Ability to manage pressure, multiple tasks, and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
• Experience in site execution, stakeholder coordination, and construction safety practices is desirable.
• Willingness to move between project sites when needed.

Preferred industry exposure

Background in construction, real estate, infrastructure development, EPC, or contracting environments is preferred.

Additional information

This is a full-time onsite role based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The role involves coordination with multiple stakeholders and may require travel between project sites.
