About the Role
This position is responsible for advancing business growth in sectors including Oil, Gas & LNG, Petrochemical, and other industrial areas across Qatar for AMPIS. The role demands proactive engagement in business development, client interactions, and providing techno-commercial support through tender and contract stages. A thorough understanding of Qatar Energy standards, EPC project cycles, and sales processes is essential.
A primary focus will be managing business development efforts related to AMPIS’s partnership with Yokohama Rubber Co. (Marine Hoses Division), ensuring smooth coordination, marketing, and successful conversion of significant tenders and RFQs from this principal.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Drive business growth and revenue by identifying new opportunities with Qatar Energy, QatarEnergy LNG, major EPC contractors, and key Oil & Gas players.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with consultants, procurement teams, project leaders, and key decision-makers.
- Analyze RFQs, ITTs, and tender documents and prepare detailed techno-commercial proposals.
- Collaborate with principals, manufacturers, and internal departments to guarantee full compliance technically and commercially.
- Serve as the principal liaison for all Yokohama Rubber Co.-related business development activities, handling RFQs, client engagement, technical coordination, and converting strategic marine hose projects.
- Ensure compliance with QatarEnergy-specific project standards.
- Participate in pre-bid, clarification, and technical meetings with clients.
- Support commercial negotiations and assist in contract closure with management coordination.
- Keep track of upcoming projects and sustain a healthy opportunity pipeline.
- Meet assigned sales targets and revenue goals.
- Generate regular sales reports, forecasts, and market intelligence updates.
- Represent the company at industry events and exhibitions to drive business development initiatives.
- Maintain ongoing engagement with key clients and principals.
Key Performance Indicators
- Achievement of annual revenue growth.
- Tender success rate.
- Rates for client acquisition and retention.
- Gross margin attainment.
- Expansion of approved vendor registrations for AMPIS and its principals in Qatar.
- Conversion ratio and revenue share from Yokohama Rubber Co. marine hose opportunities.
Business Development & Market Growth
- Identify and pursue opportunities in energy sectors including Oil & Gas, LNG, Petrochemicals.
- Engage international operators, Qatar-based EPIC contractors, industrial, infrastructure sectors, and government ministries.
- Develop business strategies aligned with AMPIS’s revenue and gross profit targets.
- Promote AMPIS principals and product lines through client meetings, presentations, and technical dialogs.
- Maintain an active opportunity pipeline and provide updated forecasts to management.
Market Intelligence and Client Relations
- Establish and maintain relationships with major energy operators, international companies, EPC contractors, industrial clients, and public sector entities.
- Utilize market insights to position AMPIS early in project phases and vendor approval stages.
- Keep abreast of market trends, competitor activities, and procurement strategies.
Tender and Commercial Coordination
- Monitor relevant tender opportunities within AMPIS’s scope.
- Organize competitive and compliant bid preparation internally.
- Support tender submissions, clarifications, negotiations, and contract signing.
- Ensure proposals meet approved gross profit and margin requirements.
Principal and OEM Engagement
- Act as commercial coordinator between AMPIS and international principals, focusing heavily on Yokohama Rubber Co.
- Handle all RFQs, tenders, and technical/commercial discussions for Yokohama marine hose systems promptly and strategically.
- Coordinate technical and commercial contributions for proposals.
- Identify and onboard additional principals aligned with market demands.
Market Analysis, Governance & Reporting
- Submit regular reports covering opportunity pipelines, gross profit forecasts, client engagement status, market observations, and competitor analysis.
- Comply with company policies, governance guidelines, and confidentiality rules.
- Other duties as assigned by AMPIS leadership within the role’s scope.
Authority & Accountability
- Authorized to represent AMPIS in client and commercial discussions as delegated.
- Accountable for opportunity pipeline management, sustaining client relationships, meeting revenue and profit targets.
- Ensure compliance with margin policies and effective handling of Yokohama-related tenders.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive commercial and client information.
Training and Development
Participate in pertinent training, seminars, and industry events to strengthen technical and commercial expertise relevant to AMPIS business operations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or Industrial Engineering.
- At least 7 to 10 years of demonstrated experience in Business Development or Technical Sales within Qatar’s Oil & Gas industry.
- Strong familiarity with QatarEnergy vendor registration and tendering processes.
- Hands-on experience with major EPC contractors in Qatar.
- In-depth knowledge of Oil & Gas equipment such as piping systems, valves, compressors, and pumps.
- Proven success in achieving sales targets within the Qatar market.
- Established network with energy operators, international oil and gas firms, EPC contractors, industrial, and government organizations.
- Experience with marine hose systems, offshore loading systems, or working with OEMs like Yokohama Rubber Co. is highly advantageous.
- Valid Qatar driving license and relevant engineering certification in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical/Instrumentation, or Chemical Engineering.
- Strong negotiation, techno-commercial analysis, communication, presentation, market intelligence, client relationship, strategic planning, and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with Qatar’s energy and industrial market dynamics and EPC project lifecycle.
- Proficient in tender procedures for major Qatar clients and able to manage gross profit and margin optimization.
- Superior written and verbal English communication skills; knowledge of Arabic is a plus.
