Job Summary

This role involves maintaining a safe and clean facility environment during the second shift (2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, Monday to Friday). The Building & Grounds Custodian is responsible for custodial duties, groundskeeping, minor facility maintenance, and ensuring security by inspecting and securing the premises. This position starts at $18.00/hour with potential shift differentials and includes a $1000 sign-on bonus.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance work such as plumbing, electrical repairs, lighting, painting, mechanical tasks, and pressure washing.
• Conduct routine housekeeping including trash removal, vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, and sanitizing floors, restrooms, grounds, and common areas daily.
• Manage recycling and waste processes, including using compactors and balers for corrugated materials.
• Inspect and secure buildings at shift start and end to ensure safety and cleanliness.
• Clear snow from entrances and walkways and apply sand and ice-melting chemicals as needed.
• Ensure all equipment is maintained in good working order.
• Perform minor building repairs and maintenance tasks.

Qualifications and Physical Requirements

• Previous experience in custodial or maintenance roles is preferred but not required.
• Capable of performing physical activities including bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, and lifting heavy items regularly (up to 50 lbs, occasionally 75 lbs).
• Must be able to stand for 8 to 12 hours per day and work up to six days per week.
• Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and perform tasks while lying down or reaching overhead.
• Willingness to work overtime and respond to on-call requests as necessary.

Compensation and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $15.00 to $21.75 per hour, depending on location, education, skills, and experience, always meeting minimum wage standards.
