Automation Tester - C# .NET

As an Automation Tester focused on the Microsoft .NET environment, you will be instrumental in designing and implementing automated end-to-end testing solutions for backend services and APIs. Your role will ensure the highest standards of software reliability and quality across distributed architectures.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and sustain automated end-to-end tests using C# / .NET and NUnit frameworks.
• Create behavior-driven test scenarios with tools such as Reqnroll and SpecFlow using Gherkin syntax.
• Automate REST and Web API tests focusing on validating response statuses, data payloads, and security headers.
• Produce clear, reusable, and maintainable test code adhering to software engineering best practices.
• Analyze and diagnose test failures to generate reproducible defect reports.
• Integrate automated tests within CI/CD workflows and communicate testing outcomes.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with backend, frontend teams, and product managers to set acceptance criteria and comprehensive test coverage.
• Enhance test suite performance by improving reliability, stability, and execution speed, including better reporting and system observability.
• Document testing strategies, scope, and engineering decisions rigorously.

Required Skills and Experience

• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in automation testing.
• Proficient in C# and .NET framework development.
• Strong grasp of automated testing concepts and the testing pyramid, including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
• Experience with unit testing frameworks such as NUnit, xUnit, or MSTest.
• Good understanding of RESTful web services and API testing methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging capabilities.
• Solid foundation in software engineering principles and clean coding conventions.
• Experience handling relational databases and crafting SQL queries for test data management.
• Familiarity with version control systems, primarily Git, and modern software development methodologies.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for team collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with behavior-driven development frameworks like Reqnroll, SpecFlow, or Cucumber.
• Familiarity with API testing utilities such as Postman or equivalent HTTP client tools.
• Knowledge of test reporting tools including ExtentReports.
• Experience working with Microsoft Azure cloud services.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps concepts.
• Testing expertise in microservices architectures.
• Exposure to UI automation technologies like Selenium, Appium, Playwright, or Cypress.
• Background working in Agile teams and cloud-native app development.
