Role Summary

The Strategic Initiatives (SI) investment team focuses on deploying capital in emerging markets, innovative business models, and secular themes ahead of mainstay investment sectors. Areas of recent investment include AI infrastructure and sports-related ventures. The team engages in various transaction types such as direct/co-investments, fund investments, strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and collaborations, aiming to generate enduring compounded returns and enhance Temasek’s influence and market reach.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in thorough deal evaluation through due diligence, industry and corporate analysis, and preparation of legal documentation, with an emphasis on leading financial modeling efforts.
• Develop investment documentation, recommendations, and analytical insights for presentation to senior leadership and investment committees.
• Contribute to the management of post-investment portfolio activities including monitoring investment performance and driving project-level value enhancement.
• Engage in other Strategic Initiatives activities such as exploring new strategies, growth opportunities, and cross-firm collaborations to create value.
• Facilitate coordination of multidisciplinary deal teams and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders involved in transactions.

Candidate Requirements

• Possess between one to three years of experience in Investment Banking or Private Equity.
• Demonstrate strong capabilities in managing transactions and analytical reasoning.
• Exhibit proficiency in technical skills, particularly financial modeling and creating well-structured presentation materials.
• Possess excellent interpersonal skills coupled with a proactive, self-driven approach.
• Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

This role is based at Temasek’s office in Singapore and involves close collaboration across multiple internal teams including Temasek Global Investments, Temasek Singapore, and Temasek Partnership Solutions to align investments with the firm’s overarching strategic goals.
