Associate Accountant

Job Overview

Manage daily finance operations in Qatar, including transaction processing and billing related to QFAB with a capacity of 3 million man-hours at the yard. Provide treasury support for Qatar operations and coordinate with the global McDermott Finance Team as well as regional functions in the Middle East.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct month-end closing processes and financial reporting.
• Generate QFAB billing, monitor transactions, and offer transactional assistance.
• Support accounts payable functions and cash flow forecasting while resolving any issues encountered.
• Assist internal and external audits by providing required documentation and support.
• Prepare management information system (MIS) reports related to Qatar finance operations.
• Perform other ad-hoc financial tasks as required.

Qualifications and Skills

• Graduate degree or professional accounting qualification such as CA, CPA, or ACCA to ensure understanding of accounting implications.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Comfortable using information technology; experience with Oracle or similar ERP systems is advantageous.
• Proven ability to drive process improvements with an agile mindset.
• Effective communication skills for interaction with stakeholders across Qatar, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, and joint venture partners such as Nakilat/QFAB.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel, including expert knowledge of pivot tables, look-ups, conditional formulas, and ability to write simple macros. Familiarity with Power BI is a plus.
• Capable of multitasking and meeting tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of Hyperion tools (HFM, Planning) and Smartview is beneficial but not mandatory.
