Role overview
The Project Controller will contribute to AUS Mining projects by overseeing cost, schedule, risk, and reporting activities. This position partners with project managers, engineering teams, and commercial stakeholders to help deliver work on schedule, within budget, and in line with governance requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Handle cost and financial controls, including budget tracking, forecasts such as EAC and ETC, variance reviews, and invoicing support.
- Assist with project planning and scheduling using MSP or Primavera P6, while monitoring progress and the critical path.
- Build and maintain reports, dashboards, KPIs, and project performance summaries.
- Track risks, issues, and changes, and evaluate their likely impact on delivery.
- Support governance activities, including WBS structure, baselines, and process adherence.
- Keep project data and reporting systems accurate and up to date.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and finance stakeholders to support delivery.
Skills and competencies
- Experience in cost control, forecasting, scheduling, and project reporting.
- Working knowledge of earned value management concepts such as CPI, SPI, and EAC.
- Strong analytical ability and clear communication skills.
- Comfort working with international, cross-functional teams.
Tools used
- Advanced Excel
- Microsoft Project or Primavera P6, preferred
- Power BI, desirable
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
- Professional certifications such as PMP, Primavera, or AACE are preferred.
Success measures
- Reliable cost and schedule reporting.
- Early detection of risks and timeline slippages.
- Meaningful support to governance and decision-making.
- Effective assistance in mining project execution.
