Assistant Accountant

Job Overview

We are looking for a meticulous and seasoned Accountant to oversee daily accounting tasks, inventory management, and financial reporting. The position requires expertise in manufacturing and inventory-related accounting along with managing customer accounts and ensuring adherence to financial regulations.

Primary Duties

• Maintain precise inventory documentation and track associated costs.
• Manage customer accounts, including invoicing, debt collection, and account reconciliation.
• Perform accounting related to manufacturing processes, including allocation of costs and tracking production expenditures.
• Handle core accounting functions such as journal entries, ledger updates, and month-end closing procedures.
• Reconcile financial accounts and consolidate financial data as necessary.
• Generate accurate financial statements compliant with company policies and governing regulations.
• Supervise Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes.
• Ensure alignment with accounting principles and internal financial controls.
• Collaborate with various internal teams to keep financial records precise.

Required Skills and Expertise

• Extensive knowledge of inventory control and cost accounting methodologies.
• Experience in preparing financial reports and ensuring compliance.
• Skilled in managing receivables and payables.
• Proficient in ERP software such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
• Strong analytical capabilities and problem-solving aptitude.
• Highly detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work autonomously while meeting deadlines effectively.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• 2 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally within trading sectors.
• Prior work experience in Qatar or within the GCC region is advantageous.
