About the Role

Newmont Corporation, a leader in responsible mining with a history spanning over 100 years, is seeking an Analyst for Field Services based at the Ahafo South mine site in Ghana. Newmont is known for its commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and community upliftment. The Accra Hub acts as the corporate center for West African operations, blending local expertise with global mining standards to unlock mineral wealth responsibly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the evaluation and resolution of application issues to limit business interruptions.
  • Plan and prioritize software fixes and improvements in line with business needs and technical challenges.
  • Coordinate with development teams to implement enhancements promptly, oversee user acceptance testing, and monitor integrated system performance.
  • Support and maintain in-cabin mining technology such as fleet management, driver fatigue monitoring, and collision detection systems.
  • Maintain surface and underground communication infrastructures including Wi-Fi, Private LTE, leaky feeder networks, and two-way digital radios.
  • Monitor IT and OT system operations to reduce downtime and support consistent productivity.
  • Participate in executing technology-related projects aligning with operational priorities.
  • Implement preventative maintenance for technology hardware and communication systems to avoid unscheduled outages.
  • Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting support to system users, while maintaining accurate records of assets and maintenance activities.
  • Respond swiftly to technology concerns and incorporate user feedback to improve service quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Track, escalate, and resolve technology problems effectively, ensuring clear communication and documentation.
  • Oversee vendor and contractor performance to ensure compliance with standards and contract terms.
  • Engage in training to stay current with technological advancements and enhance technical competencies.

Qualifications and Experience

  • At least 2 to 3 years' experience supporting mining technology solutions such as Fleet Management (Minestar), two-way radios, Driver Safety systems, or geo-radar, preferably in mining or heavy industry.
  • Possession of a valid Driver’s License category B.

Additional Knowledge and Skills

  • Understanding of IT service management and ITIL frameworks.
  • Experience with vendor and contractor management practices.
  • Familiarity with project execution methodologies.
  • Knowledge of customer satisfaction strategies.
  • Awareness of mining industry regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Strong technical documentation and record-keeping skills.

Technical Competencies

  • Expertise in maintaining in-cabin mining technology, including fleet management, fatigue monitoring, and collision detection systems.
  • Ability to monitor and enhance IT/OT system performance.
  • Skill in configuring and maintaining communication systems such as Wi-Fi, Private LTE, leaky feeder, and two-way digital radios.
  • Advanced troubleshooting and resolution capabilities.
  • Implementing preventative maintenance protocols.
  • Supporting users with technical problem-solving.
  • Assisting in vendor and contractor support and management.
  • Active participation in technology projects.

Work Location
