Role Overview
The role of an AML (Anti-Money Laundering) Adverse Media Business Analyst involves identifying and escalating potential adverse media matches associated with customers of TD Bank by utilizing a portfolio monitoring system.
Primary Duties
- Assess cases allocated in the queue for possible adverse media matches focusing on critical identifiers including names (all variations and translations), birth dates or ages, and physical addresses or locations.
- Determine whether to dismiss or escalate cases to Level 1 analysts by applying a decision matrix and thoroughly document the reasoning behind each decision for subsequent review by Level 1 analysts and Quality Assurance.
Compliance Role
This position is part of the Financial Crimes Risk Management team dedicated to enforcing AML regulations by detecting, investigating, and reporting suspicious money laundering or terrorist financing activities processed through the bank.
Required Skills and Experience
- Background in banking, financial institutions, or a related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of AML regulations and compliance requirements.

- Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
- Highly motivated, organized, capable of working autonomously and collaboratively within teams.
