AI Senior Developer

Role overview

Hexaware Technologies is seeking an experienced AI Senior Developer to design and deliver GenAI-driven solutions for enterprise use cases. The position focuses on building chatbots, AI assistants, retrieval-augmented generation workflows, and scalable backend services that support intelligent search and automation.

Key responsibilities

• Create and deploy generative AI applications, chatbot experiences, and enterprise AI assistant solutions.
• Design and improve RAG pipelines, including ingestion of PDFs, documents, and structured datasets.
• Handle chunking, embeddings, indexing, and retrieval components for knowledge-based AI systems.
• Build prompt engineering approaches and reusable prompt workflows.
• Develop REST APIs and microservices with FastAPI or Flask.
• Connect large language models with SQL and NoSQL databases, enterprise knowledge repositories, and vector databases.
• Implement text-to-SQL, semantic search, and conversational search capabilities.
• Apply fine-tuning and prompt-tuning methods where needed.
• Write maintainable, secure, and scalable Python code.
• Carry out unit testing, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• Take part in code reviews and CI/CD processes.
• Assist with production releases and monitor systems after deployment.

Required experience and profile

• Minimum 15 years of overall software development experience with strong Python expertise.
• Practical exposure to LangChain or comparable AI orchestration frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with vector databases, embeddings, REST APIs, and microservices.
• Working familiarity with HTML, CSS, and React for simple UI integration.
• Strong command of SQL and data handling using Pandas and NumPy.
• Knowledge of Docker and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is an added advantage.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, AI, or a related discipline.
• At least 8 years in software development, including 3+ years building AI/ML applications.
• Advanced Python skills, including exposure to TensorFlow, PyTorch, and transformer libraries.
• Solid background in REST APIs and microservices using Flask or FastAPI.
• Experience working with vector databases and embedding-based search systems.
