Overview

The AI Operations Specialist at Eisai Pharmaceuticals India is a crucial role responsible for the deployment, management, monitoring, governance, and continuous enhancement of AI solutions in production environments. This position ensures the reliable operation of GenAI and Agentic AI technologies, working closely with global and regional teams to maintain high standards and swift improvements when necessary.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate all production deployment activities for AI models, including readiness reviews, planning, validation, monitoring, and post-deployment support.
  • Continuously observe AI solutions in operation to guarantee performance, reliability, and quality, promptly addressing and resolving any production issues.
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce standardized documentation such as deployment protocols, checklists, runbooks, and support workflows.
  • Confirm that AI solutions comply with established operational quality metrics before and after release, following governance and support frameworks.
  • Track and report on deployment challenges, identify recurring risks, and implement improvement strategies.
  • Design, test, and apply minor upgrades to AI solutions with a focus on GenAI and Agentic AI capabilities, utilizing Python and Databricks.
  • Collaborate with regional AI developers and platform managers to understand solutions’ architecture, dependencies, and prioritize enhancements.
  • Document changes thoroughly, including testing outcomes and release communications, ensuring transparency with stakeholders.
  • Work in partnership with global data and analytics teams, IT infrastructure, security, vendors, and platform groups to manage operations, resolve issues, and coordinate deployments effectively.
  • Translate operational and business needs into actionable technical tasks and communicate progress and risks clearly to all concerned parties.
  • Uphold company standards, governance, and security policies related to AI deployment and monitoring.
  • Identify areas for operational process improvements and aid in maturing AI operational capabilities as the team expands.

Required Qualifications

  • At least eight years of experience in technology fields related to data, AI, analytics, or platform operations.
  • Minimum of three years hands-on experience delivering AI solutions, with a preference for experience in GenAI and Agentic AI deployment.
  • Proficiency in Python programming.
  • Experience working with Databricks or comparable AI/data platforms is highly advantageous.
  • Background in deploying and maintaining AI or software solutions in production settings.
  • Strong problem-solving skills: diagnosing issues, root cause analysis, and co-ordinating prompt resolutions.
  • Experience with operational procedures such as release standards, deployment checklists, and runbook creation.
  • Excellent communication skills capable of clarifying complex technical details to international stakeholders.
  • Adaptability to dynamic work environments with competing priorities and interdepartmental dependencies.
  • Attention to detail, ownership mentality, and a drive for continuous operational excellence.
  • Preferred - a college degree in computer science, information systems, data science, engineering, business administration, or related fields.

Preferred Experience

  • Extensive hands-on work with GenAI or Agentic AI development.
  • Databricks AI development experience and/or relevant certifications.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot Studio or similar AI workflow platforms.
  • Experience in pharma, life sciences, SaaS, or large-scale data platforms.
  • Exposure to working with multinational teams, vendors, managed service providers, and platform management.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies, technical documentation, testing approaches, and release management processes.

Work Environment and Collaboration

  • The position entails approximately 80% hands-on technical execution and 20% oversight responsibilities.
  • Strategic decision-making and new AI development remain with global teams, while minor enhancements and operational execution are managed locally in India.
  • Key collaborators include global data and analytics groups, regional developers, platform owners, IT infrastructure, security units, and external vendors.
  • The team is planned to grow to two or three members gradually.
