Activities Assistant

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated full-time Activities Assistant to join our team at Knockrobin Hill Care Home located in County Wicklow. This position involves supporting the delivery of a Meaningful Activity Programme aimed at engaging all residents—including those with cognitive, physical, sensory, and intellectual challenges—in enriching daily activities. The role operates within a team that provides activities seven days a week, including weekends.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing and facilitating meaningful activities that enhance residents' quality of life.
• Support a wide range of residents, adapting activities to meet diverse needs and abilities.
• Work collaboratively within a team that delivers activities every day of the week.

Requirements

• Experience in caring for older adults in a residential care environment is beneficial.
• Relevant experience is preferred but not mandatory as comprehensive training will be offered.
• Completion of the Sonas Programme course is advantageous but not required due to provided training.
• Proficient IT skills are required.
• Knowledge or familiarity with the EpicCare platform is desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to engage effectively with residents and team members.
• Skills or interests in cooking, gardening, knitting, music, and arts and crafts are positive attributes.
