Job description
Overview
Under the overall guidance of a senior accounting executive or specialist within a staff accounting team, this role is responsible for preparing financial analyses, forecasts, and reports. The position involves generating interpretive and supportive data used by the department and may include supervising accounting clerical and technical personnel. Additionally, the role can extend to leading technical staff in a 24/7 shipping shift, managing ship/shore data analyses, shipping document review, and coordination with relevant parties.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate accounting information system proposals to determine if they meet end-user needs and comply with accounting policies, while recommending improvements.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of an effective internal control framework to mitigate significant risks.
- Conduct research on up-to-date accounting standards to establish new policies or revise existing accounting and financial reporting processes, including tax compliance.
- Create and update accounting procedures and general instruction manuals, interpreting their application for operational teams.
- Support financial modeling, including investment and divestiture analysis, asset valuation, due diligence, and entity setup.
- Generate financial reports and forecasts covering cash flows, corporate income, operating and capital budgets, manpower costs, investments, consolidated financial status, as well as preparing tax and transfer pricing computations.
- Review affiliate cash calls and aid in structuring and designing funding protocols.
- Analyze the viability and financial impact of transactions such as hydrocarbon production, sales, purchases, and disbursements in line with company policies.
Minimum Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of accounting policies and procedures aligned with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Comprehensive understanding of financial statements prepared under IFRS frameworks.
- Well-versed in Saudi Aramco's accounting standards and general instructions.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Management.
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience.
