Job description

Overview

Thalia Waste Management is seeking a Waste Sampler to join their operations in Ely, England. This part-time, onsite role involves ensuring the quality of waste materials arriving on site by conducting regular sampling, inspections, and recording precise data. The work is hands-on, predominantly outdoors, involving physical sampling and quality checks across varying weather conditions. Prior experience is not mandatory, as full training will be offered.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections and routine sampling of incoming waste materials.
  • Assess moisture levels and detect contamination or unsuitable materials.
  • Accurately document sampling outcomes using company systems.
  • Assist with quality-related investigations when necessary.
  • Maintain detailed records and perform straightforward administrative duties.
  • Provide occasional support covering weighbridge operations.
  • Collaborate with Operations team to ensure efficient site functioning.
  • Adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental standards and uphold cleanliness on site.

Candidate Profile

  • Strong attention to detail is essential.
  • Ability to accurately capture and log information.
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively.
  • Reliability and dependability are key traits.
  • Prepared to work outdoors regardless of weather conditions.
  • Familiarity or comfort with busy waste management environments.
  • Willingness to perform manual handling tasks.

Previous experience in waste management, recycling, or quality control roles is advantageous but not a requirement.

Additional Information
