About the Company
Finning Canada is seeking two permanent Warranty Technicians to join their team based in Alberta or British Columbia. This position offers a Monday to Friday schedule from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, totaling 40 hours weekly, and a competitive salary range of $75,000 to $102,700 annually, along with bonuses and benefits from day one.
Role Overview
The Warranty Technician will play a key role in supporting service operations by examining repair documentation, auditing work orders for compliance, and managing warranty claims with equipment manufacturers and suppliers. This role suits individuals who enjoy methodical problem-solving, handling technical data, and ensuring precision within a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate warranty coverage of equipment to establish claim eligibility.
- Audit service work orders and repair records for adherence to warranty standards.
- Prepare, submit, and monitor warranty and goodwill claims with manufacturers and suppliers.
- Investigate discrepancies in warranty registrations and facilitate their resolution.
- Serve as the communication link between service teams, suppliers, and manufacturers on warranty-related issues.
- Support and guide branch staff on warranty processes and claim criteria.
- Contribute to the rollout of updated warranty procedures and best practice implementations.
- Ensure valid repair expenses are charged appropriately to warranty or policy accounts.
- Identify and return non-qualifying charges for correction when necessary.
Required Qualifications
- Background in warranty management, service operations, equipment maintenance, or related fields.
- Familiarity with technical failure analysis and repair documentation standards.
- Exceptional attention to detail with strong auditing capabilities.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
- Adept at managing substantial workloads and balancing multiple priorities.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with heavy machinery, construction, or mining equipment industries.
- Knowledge of warranty claim processes and manufacturer warranty programs.
- Understanding of service department workflows and work order management systems.
- Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with product equipment.
