Unity Developer (Masters or PhD Degree Required)

Position Overview

QuiverVision, a pioneering Augmented Reality company based in Auckland, seeks a passionate Unity Developer. This role focuses on building innovative AR/3D educational and creative applications using Unity, C#, and cutting-edge technologies in AI and computer vision.

Candidate Eligibility

• Current enrollment or recent completion (within 12 months) of a Masters or PhD degree in science, engineering, design, technology, or related disciplines from a New Zealand tertiary institution.
• Legal authorization for full-time employment in New Zealand.

Role Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance Unity-based AR and 3D applications impacting educational content for children.
• Engage in R&D efforts to innovate and release new AR features and products.
• Utilize a diverse tech stack including Unity, C#, cloud services, AI, computer vision, and APIs to deliver projects from concept to deployment.

Required Skills & Experience

• At least two years' experience working with Unity Game Engine to deliver consumer-focused and content-driven software.
• Proficient in writing clean, well-documented, unit-testable C# code compliant with coding standards.
• Experience with scripting, texture management, animation, GUI design, and user session handling.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and rigorous self-testing practices.
• Capability to interpret business requirements and wireframes into coherent application architectures.
• Knowledge in AR/VR application development, 3D mathematics, graphics, physics, animations, and experience with mobile SDKs for Android and iOS.
• Understanding of full software development life cycle and ability to devise creative solutions to complex problems.

Desirable Skills

• Familiarity with Vuforia AR platform.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure.
• Knowledge of PlayMaker or Visual Scripting tools.
• Background in human-computer interaction.
• 3D modeling and animation skills, preferably using Blender or Maya.
• Insight into product development cycles, encompassing business and marketing aspects.
• Understanding of pedagogical principles.
• Experience with version control tools like Git.
