Job Overview
The Technical/Workshop Assistant role at BAE Systems Qatar Technical Institute in Doha involves supporting the safe and effective execution of hands-on lessons for cadets across General Engineering and Specialty Training programs. The role focuses on mechanical and electrical trade specialties, ensuring practical training is delivered securely, aligning with institute policies and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the safe execution and assessment of diverse practical training modules within workshops and other hands-on training areas, reporting any unsafe or improper practices to instructional staff.
- Handle distribution and storage of tools, equipment, and materials as required for practical sessions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workshops, adhering strictly to SHE regulations and Technical Institute policies.
- Prepare and clear workshop/practical spaces before and after classes as directed by instructional personnel.
- Assist with various tasks related to training delivery and evaluation under instructors' guidance.
- Contribute ideas to the ongoing enhancement of the Technical Institute’s training quality and safety standards.
Essential Requirements
- Certification at Level 2 in an engineering-related field.
- Practical understanding and application of Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) regulations in engineering contexts.
- Proficiency in English with either native fluency or a minimum IELTS score of 4.5 for non-native speakers.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- At least two years of experience in training or technical assistance roles outside QTTC, specifically in areas such as apprentice engineering or military engineering trade training.
- Background in Further Education colleges focusing on engineering or technology.
- Arabic language skills are considered beneficial.
