Job description
About the Role
This position offers involvement in cutting-edge sensor technologies integrated within smartphones, automotive systems, IoT devices, smartwatches, and other consumer electronics. The role covers the full product lifecycle, from early research and development phases through to commercial deployment. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with systems, software, and integration/test engineering teams in the Qualcomm QCT sensors group.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with global systems and software teams to develop innovative solutions.
- Design and implement sensor algorithms using high-level programming languages such as MATLAB and Python, including validating algorithm performance.
- Balance engineering trade-offs involving performance, memory usage, power consumption, and computational complexity.
- Develop embedded software in C/C++ targeting fixed and floating-point designs.
- Document the outcomes of algorithm evaluations and prepare comprehensive design and user documentation.
- Effectively communicate designs, findings, and challenges to product management and engineering leads.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering/Science, or a related discipline with at least 2 years of systems engineering or equivalent professional experience, or a Master's degree in a relevant field.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Strong understanding of advanced machine learning methods including supervised and unsupervised learning, feature extraction, classification techniques, logistic regression, Bayesian inference, and neural networks.
- Comprehensive knowledge of digital signal processing concepts, linear algebra, probability, and statistics.
- Familiarity with machine learning libraries and software packages.
- Embedded programming expertise in C and C++.
- Experience with MEMS and inertial sensors.
- Excellent analytical capabilities and adaptability to fast-paced, dynamic team environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
