Job description
Position Overview
The Fitness Supervisor will evaluate individuals' current exercise routines and fitness levels to create customized workout plans and provide expert fitness guidance. This role includes instructing guests on the safe and proper use of gym equipment, managing reservations and schedules for recreational activities, and ensuring the facility maintains an enjoyable and secure environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and develop personalized fitness and exercise programs tailored to guests' needs.
- Advise users on the correct operation of fitness equipment and monitor their routines.
- Register guests and coordinate their participation in recreational events.
- Coordinate maintenance or repair requests for fitness machines as needed.
- Maintain adequate supplies such as cups and water within the recreation area to enhance guest comfort.
- Foster a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere while enforcing safety rules and regulations of the facility.
- Support management by assisting in recruiting, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching staff members.
- Serve as a role model and first contact for the organization's Fair Treatment and Open Door Policy.
- Report and document accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions promptly.
- Adhere to company policies regarding professionalism, confidentiality, and asset protection.
- Greet and interact with guests professionally, anticipating and meeting their service requirements, including support for individuals with disabilities.
- Communicate clearly both verbally and in writing, handling phone calls with appropriate etiquette.
- Build and sustain positive professional relationships with colleagues and guests alike.
- Process payments related to rental equipment, recreational activities, and retail transactions efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards; propose and implement improvements to enhance organizational standards.
- Perform physical tasks involving standing, sitting, walking extended periods, and handling objects up to 50 pounds safely.
- Navigate diverse physical environments such as uneven or slippery surfaces with care.
Qualifications Required
- High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
- Less than one year of relevant work experience preferred but not mandatory.
- No previous supervisory experience necessary.
- Certifications mandatory: CPR, First Aid, and Fitness Equipment operation.
- Compliance with any other licenses or certifications required by local or state regulations.
