Job description
Job Overview
Galliford Try is seeking a diligent and motivated Storeperson to join their team supporting the South West Water Framework in Plymouth. This full-time position involves managing the day-to-day activities of the store facility, serving the Plymouth Capital delivery teams and the control panel workshop.
Key Duties
- Handling general administrative tasks related to store management including emails and computer-based communication.
- Overseeing the organization and upkeep of the stores area, including stock receipt, putting items on shelves, and processing Goods Received Notes (GRNs).
- Coordinating with project teams regarding material and plant availability.
- Performing routine stock audits to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Operating telehandler equipment in the yard for deliveries and collections.
- Managing yard upkeep, including waste skip orders, exchanges, and GRN processing.
- Supporting miscellaneous office duties such as maintenance and fire alarm testing.
- Controlling the issuance and return of tools, plant, and materials held at the Plymouth office.
- Maintaining the asset register for plant and tooling.
- Conducting small local deliveries to various sites.
Required Experience and Qualifications
- Previous storeperson experience is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with mechanical and/or electrical materials.
- Proficient with IT and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong self-drive and organisational skills for managing workload independently and within a team.
- Proactive attitude with excellent communication abilities and high diplomatic standards focused on customer service.
