Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced SQL Database Administrator to manage and optimize SQL Server environments. This position requires expertise in database administration, automation of routine DBA tasks, and designing high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer SQL Server databases with a high degree of proficiency.
- Automate routine database administration tasks such as provisioning, patching, and upgrades.
- Design, develop, and manage high availability solutions including Always On Availability Groups, Distributed AGs, replication, mirroring, and SQL Always On Clusters.
- Perform performance tuning and query optimization using tools like Query Store and SQL Profiler.
- Oversee SQL Server upgrades, both in-place and with availability groups and failover clusters.
- Implement security features such as auditing and TLS to ensure database integrity and compliance.
- Manage backups, restoration processes, and database recovery models.
- Carry out database migration activities efficiently.
- Host and maintain SQL Server database clusters on cloud platforms including OCI, AWS, and Azure.
- Use SQL, PL/SQL, or PowerShell scripts as needed for database operations.
- Collaborate within Agile environments and utilize modern automation tools like Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform, and ArgoCD.
- Administer databases on OS platforms including Unix, Linux, and Windows, and manage virtualization environments such as VMware and Hyper-V.
- Apply scripting knowledge in Bash and Python when necessary.
- Possess knowledge of additional database systems is advantageous.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should hold a B.Sc. in Computer Science and Technology, B.Tech or B.E. in any specialization, or a B.C.A. in Computer Applications (General).
