Role overview
The Ministry of Justice in New Zealand is seeking an experienced Solution Architect to help design and deliver modern, cloud-first technology solutions across its Shared Services portfolio. The role focuses on corporate and back-office services and requires close collaboration with delivery teams, external suppliers, and key stakeholders.
What you'll do
- Shape solution architecture across Shared Services areas
- Turn business requirements into designs that can scale effectively
- Promote the use of cloud platforms and SaaS-based services
- Support approaches for moving legacy systems into the cloud
- Review supplier architecture outputs to ensure they match Ministry standards and quality expectations
- Make sure solutions follow enterprise-wide architecture standards
- Coach teams and offer hands-on technical guidance
What you should bring
This position suits someone who already has solid Solution Architect experience in complex environments; it is not intended as an entry-level architecture role. You should be comfortable working independently across architecture design and delivery, and bring strong expertise in public cloud environments such as Azure, Microsoft 365, and AWS. Experience with legacy-to-cloud transformation, supplier output assurance, and stakeholder influence is important.
