Software Developer Intern, BS, Summer 2027

Internship Details

The program is a 12-14 week paid internship offering rich personal and professional growth, including executive speaker events and community engagement. Participants will contribute to meaningful projects focused on scalable and distributed systems or site reliability, critical to Google's innovation and technological leadership.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Collaborate effectively with team members and management to achieve project goals.
• Develop and maintain scripts to automate routine operations.
• Evaluate and analyze data to identify and implement the most effective solutions for challenges faced.
• Apply theoretical computer science concepts to practical, real-world software development tasks.

Minimum Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree or related post-secondary studies focused on software development or technical disciplines.
• Proficient in coding with at least two general-purpose programming languages such as C, C++, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
• Experience with data structures or algorithms, acquired through academic studies or practical work.

Preferred Qualifications

• Enrollment in a Canadian degree program with availability to work full-time for 12 weeks outside academic terms.
• Intention to resume academic studies following the internship period.
• Programming experience with three or more languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Go, or Python.
• Knowledge in areas like artificial intelligence/machine learning, infrastructure, web and mobile app development, Unix/Linux systems, distributed systems, information retrieval, natural language processing, networking, large-scale software development, or security software.

The anticipated salary for a full-time position in Canada is CAD 99,000 annually, exclusive of bonuses and benefits.
