SOC / Cyber Security Analyst

Overview

A prominent organisation is seeking a Cyber Security Analyst to join its expanding Cyber Security team, offering a salary between 40000 and 50000 GBP along with benefits.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee cyber incident response activities from initial detection to full recovery.
• Serve as an escalation point for analysts and facilitate service delivery support.
• Validate vulnerabilities and ensure proper risk assessment and management.
• Create comprehensive and insightful reports for both customers and senior leadership.
• Coordinate with the SOC provider to handle alerts and threats efficiently.
• Develop and refine cyber response plans and runbooks.
• Assist with governance-related activities and compliance efforts.
• Contribute expert advice to projects, security tooling, and architectural designs.
• Mentor and support junior team members within the department.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Experience in cyber security within complex or multi-tenant environments.
• Proven skills in incident response and security operations.
• Proficiency with security tools such as Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, Qualys, or Tenable.
• Strong understanding of vulnerability management and risk frameworks.
• Ability to clearly articulate technical risks in relatable, business-centric terms.
• Experience mentoring or supporting team colleagues.
• A calm and analytical mindset, especially under pressure.
