Role Overview

The Site Superintendent will be responsible for managing residential construction projects from the initial excavation phase through to final possession. This position entails overseeing daily operations at construction sites, coordinating trades, suppliers, and inspections, ensuring timely project completion, and upholding Akash Homes’ rigorous quality and safety standards.

Key Priorities for the Initial Six Months

• Ensure on-time delivery of homes while maintaining Akash Homes’ construction and quality benchmarks.
• Establish and maintain strong collaborative relationships with trade partners and internal departments to facilitate efficient project progress.
• Identify and implement improvements in site coordination, scheduling, and communication between the field and office teams.

Primary Responsibilities

• Oversee all stages of residential construction from excavation through to possession.
• Coordinate trades, suppliers, and inspections to adhere to building schedules.
• Monitor construction sites for compliance with Alberta Building Code and Occupational Health & Safety regulations.
• Perform regular site inspections, promptly addressing any deficiencies.
• Conduct pre-possession walkthroughs and manage resolution of post-possession deficiencies.
• Maintain clear and professional communication with internal teams including Drafting, Estimating, Sales, and Customer Experience departments.
• Represent Akash Homes professionally with homeowners, trade partners, and inspectors.
• Ensure all active construction sites are kept clean, organized, and safe.

Qualifications and Skills

• Proven experience supervising residential construction sites or managing homebuilding projects.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Alberta Building Code and residential construction practices.
• Capability to manage multiple homes at different construction phases simultaneously.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills for effective coordination of trades and resolution of on-site issues.
• Ability to adapt and prioritize effectively within a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle to travel between sites.
• While formal education is not mandatory, a diploma or coursework in Construction Management, Building Science, or related areas is considered advantageous.
• Experience with construction management software (e.g., BuildPro) is an asset.
