Shop Helper

About the role

Join a long-established company with more than 90 years of history, operating across 7 countries with over 100 units and representing well-known brands in its business lines. The team is expanding in Kamloops, British Columbia, and is looking for a Shop Helper to support day-to-day shop operations.

Role summary

This is a strong entry point into the trades and heavy equipment field. In this position, you will help with minor equipment repairs and servicing, support technicians as directed by the Service Supervisor, keep shop tools organized, maintain a tidy work area, and wash equipment when needed. The job offers hands-on exposure to the heavy equipment industry from the ground up, along with the chance to develop practical skills for long-term growth.

Career growth

The role is positioned as a pathway into the company’s Apprenticeship Program, with potential progression toward becoming a Parts Person or a Heavy Equipment Technician. Training, mentorship, and real shop experience are part of the opportunity.

Working conditions

This is a full-time, permanent position. The work can involve heavy lifting and carrying, and conditions may be hot, cold, wet, dusty, or greasy. Busy periods may include longer hours and occasional overtime. The employer also emphasizes taking vacation time to recharge.

Compensation and benefits

The pay rate is $25.00 per hour. The package includes full health and dental coverage as well as a company-sponsored RRSP plan.
