The Shift Manager (AM/ASM) is responsible for overseeing day-to-day shift operations. The role centers on keeping guest expectations high, ensuring the restaurant runs smoothly, encouraging and guiding the team, and maintaining product quality.

Key responsibilities

The role is expected to drive operational quality, guest satisfaction, team performance, and sales during assigned shifts.

• Model the expected hospitality behavior and coach the team on service standards.
• Maintain safety and sanitation standards through proper process execution.
• Ensure cleanliness is consistently upheld both inside and outside the restaurant.
• Address guest concerns promptly using the LEADS approach and a strong sense of urgency.
• Act on guest feedback and create action plans to close service gaps.
• Make sure each shift has the right staffing level to meet speed-of-service expectations.
• Enable the team to meet guest needs and resolve issues effectively.
• Remove obstacles that may prevent hospitality behaviors from being delivered well.
• Share guest feedback with the team and involve them in corrective actions.
• Handle employee concerns quickly and fairly.
• Treat all team members with respect and ensure fair handling across the shift.
• Do not place team members in roles until required training is completed.
• Communicate goals, results, and expectations regularly to the team.
• Support hiring, training, retention, and development of team members to improve guest experience.
• Use scheduling, cross-training, and deployment effectively to deliver service.
• Create development plans for strong performers to support career growth.
• Support local store marketing and help the store connect with the surrounding community.
• Track performance results and share them with the team.
• Ensure the restaurant stays well maintained and clean.
• Keep products available for guests on every shift and ensure items are made to standard.
• Use appropriate suggestive selling to improve sales.
• Discuss shift issues with other managers when needed.
• Review the shift plan with the team before and during operations.
• Adjust assignments during the shift to meet business goals.
• Delegate tasks and manage travel paths as required.

Qualifications and experience

Candidates should have a 3-year hotel management degree/diploma or be graduates. The preferred experience is 0-2 years in food services or retail, and freshers from IHM are also eligible.

Additional requirements

The job requires English reading and speaking ability, basic math skills, onboarding support for new employees, team-building capability, conflict handling, root-cause analysis, and problem-solving skills. Applicants must be at least 18 years old.

Compensation

The stated annual salary range is INR 1,50,000 to INR 2,50,000.
