Position Overview
The Senior ServiceNow Developer will be instrumental in designing, building, customizing, and maintaining ServiceNow platform solutions that directly support IT and business functions. Working closely with stakeholders, architects, analysts, and administrators, they will ensure delivery of scalable, secure, high-performing applications within the ServiceNow suite. This position includes technical leadership responsibilities, mentoring junior members, promoting platform best practices, and contributing to digital transformation efforts focused on workflow automation and enhancing employee experiences.
Core Responsibilities
- Create, develop, and deploy ServiceNow solutions aligned to business needs.
- Customize modules, workflows, forms, UI policies, business rules, and client scripts.
- Build and maintain Service Catalog items, Record Producers, Flow Designer workflows, and automation assets.
- Develop integrations with external systems using REST, SOAP, MID Server, APIs, and Integration Hub.
- Translate business needs into effective technical designs and collaborate on platform enhancements.
- Lead platform upgrade and patching activities while ensuring adherence to standards and governance.
- Develop and maintain expertise in modules such as ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, Service Catalog, Knowledge Management, Employee Center, HRSD, and incident/change/problem/request management.
- Implement workflow automation and support adoption of AI-powered tools like Virtual Agent, Predictive Intelligence, Now Assist, and generative AI features.
- Conduct unit testing, code reviews, troubleshoot issues, and optimize system performance.
- Provide technical support during production incidents and maintain comprehensive documentation.
- Mentor junior developers and engage collaboratively with cross-functional teams throughout project lifecycles.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related discipline.
- Preferably holds ServiceNow Certified System Administrator and Application Developer certifications; Implementation Specialist certification is highly valued.
- ITIL Foundation certification is a plus; additional certifications in Agile, Scrum, cloud, or integration platforms are beneficial.
- 8 to 12 years of total IT experience with a minimum of 7 years specializing in ServiceNow development within enterprise settings.
- Strong proficiency in ServiceNow scripting (JavaScript), platform integrations, and module configuration.
- Hands-on experience with business rules, client scripts, script includes, UI actions and policies, Flow Designer, Integration Hub, and Service Portal/Employee Center.
- Demonstrated knowledge of ITSM, service catalog, knowledge management, and CMDB implementations.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow AI tools and workflow automation capabilities is preferred.
- Experience working in Agile environments and excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Proven ability to work with global teams and support large-scale enterprise deployments.
Work Location & Mode
This position is based in Hyderabad, India with a hybrid work arrangement and operates primarily in the UK shift.
