Job Role and Responsibilities
- Develop AI-integrated solutions from the ground up, making AI the intrinsic basis for problem-solving rather than an add-on.
- Drive technical vision and direction; lead design discussions, author architectural decision records, and make key technical choices in ambiguous or complex situations.
- Innovate new developer interfaces to support autonomous pipelines that generate fixes and present results requiring human judgment.
- Take comprehensive ownership by building end-to-end features using Go, React, and TypeScript, without fragmenting responsibilities.
- Focus relentlessly on craftsmanship and user experience, ensuring reliability and responsiveness are foundational design priorities.
- Promote observability using tools like Honeycomb, Datadog, and Rollbar to proactively enhance system stability and not merely react to incidents.
- Identify and address operational or workflow gaps actively, including improving team processes as necessary.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proficient with AI-assisted engineering workflows, routinely applying AI tools and able to critically assess their impact and limitations.
- Extensive experience (5+ years) delivering full-stack products with focus on performance, latency, and reliability.
- Deep expertise in React and TypeScript for frontend development, plus strong backend capabilities in Go including API design and data modeling.
- Experienced system architect able to lead complex system designs, weigh tradeoffs thoughtfully, and document architectural rationale for team use.
- Highly adaptable, able to clarify ambiguous requirements and create actionable development plans for teams.
- Strong technical leadership with a track record of mentoring engineers, providing constructive feedback, and elevating engineering standards via code reviews and design participation.
Compensation and Equal Opportunity
The salary range for this position based in Canada is CAD 156,000 to 196,000 annually.
