Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior Software Developer to support our client, a prominent technology provider catering to private banking and wealth management sectors across Europe and Asia. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining robust software applications to ensure the timely and successful completion of customized projects and product strategies. The candidate will translate business requirements into coherent system and technical specifications, providing strategic guidance and promoting best practices aligned with client needs. Close collaboration with cross-functional teams including technical leads, offshore developers, testers, and support personnel will be essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage early in projects by conducting workshops to gather client requirements and align with project or product roadmaps.
• Develop product design documents and technical specifications, assisting business analysts during analysis, solution proposals, and estimating costs.
• Estimate development efforts and analyze impacts for functional stories and change requests.
• Identify project risks and collaborate with project managers to plan mitigation strategies.
• Work closely with project leads, business analysts, and IT teams to resolve technical issues and ensure consistent, feasible solutions.
• Provide technical mentorship to offshore application development teams.
• Develop medium to complex software applications ensuring alignment with technical documentation.
• Conduct thorough testing including unit, integration, and system tests to guarantee deliverables function as expected.
• Support clients during user acceptance testing by addressing inquiries, executing batch jobs in simulation environments, and resolving issues.
• Adhere to and promote continuous improvements in the client's methodology and processes.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, preferably Computer Science or Information Technology.
• Over 10 years of software development experience, ideally within the banking sector, specifically private banking or wealth management.
• Strong knowledge in Credit and Risk banking products and systems.
• Technical proficiency with S2i Application, COBOL, DB2, GIT, GITLAB, SPLUNK, SQL, DBeaver, and Eclipse; familiarity with APIs and digital banking considered advantageous.
• Experience with core banking product implementations such as Temenos-T24, Avaloq, Olympic for global customers.
• Working knowledge of modern development practices including Agile and DevOps.
• Excellent problem-solving skills including debugging, testing, and designing software solutions.
• Ability to manage and negotiate diverse stakeholder expectations effectively.
• Consultative approach to recommending solutions considering business needs and best practices.
• Proven experience managing knowledge processes and mentoring junior team members.
• Passion for fostering collaboration, automation, and continuous improvement within teams.
• Up to date with trends in Wealth Management and Private Banking markets and technologies.
