About the Role

The Technical team plays a crucial role at O'Brien Fine Foods, focused on producing high-quality, safe products that meet all legislative and regulatory food processing standards. This team fosters a culture of Quality Assurance that encourages employee empowerment and ownership of quality at all levels.

As a Senior Quality Supervisor reporting to the Site Quality Manager, you will contribute to maintaining and improving the company's Quality Assurance systems, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Support and develop the Quality Officer & Supervisor team through training.
  • Participate in all quality audits and lead these audits when the Site Quality Manager is unavailable.
  • Drive improvements in food safety and product quality, aiming to enhance audit outcomes and reduce customer complaints.
  • Provide coaching and training to floor staff using documented Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Conduct traceability and recall audits, reporting findings to production and collaborating to implement improvements.
  • Manage customer complaints by investigating and resolving issues alongside production and quality teams.
  • Oversee the microbiological sampling plan, analyze trends, and communicate concerns to the Production cleaning team.
  • Administer the site's calibration schedule and pest control program.
  • Work closely with operations to integrate quality measures into production processes, ensuring quality at first pass.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A degree in Food Science or an equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of 3 years' relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Proficient knowledge of HACCP systems and familiarity with standards such as BRC, Bord Bia, and TFS.
  • Fluency in English language is required.
