Role Overview
The Senior Planning Manager will lead and oversee planning teams situated across three regions, driving the successful delivery of high-profile construction projects in Europe and the Caribbean. This leadership role in a world-renowned Tier 1 contracting organization involves hands-on management of all facets of project planning, scheduling, and strategy implementation, ensuring each project phase aligns with business objectives, compliance, and global standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall direction in the development, implementation, and day-to-day management of town planning initiatives for major projects and programs.
- Establish and enforce robust management practices to guarantee the effective execution of planning obligations.
- Guide the planning team in setting up project strategies, identifying and mitigating potential risks.
- Create, oversee, and adjust comprehensive schedules for design, procurement, construction, and project completion; ensure alignment with contractual and procedural requirements.
- Analyze project status and progress, generate detailed forecasts, and report performance to stakeholders.
- Foster collaboration with project managers, subcontractors, and regulatory bodies to keep detailed work programs current and compliant.
- Review team outputs for synchronization with project milestones and address deviations proactively.
- Conduct critical assessments of alternate schedules or action plans in response to evolving project landscapes or market changes.
- Scrutinize and manage subcontractor schedules, identifying discrepancies and initiating corrective measures to maintain contractual timelines.
- Promote and monitor adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies; participate actively in safety programs and incident management processes.
Knowledge and Skills
- Expert understanding of planning principles and advanced project management techniques.
- In-depth knowledge of construction law, change management, and research/data collection methods applicable to the construction sector.
- Clear grasp of safety, quality, and cost benchmarks in global construction projects.
- Proficient with advanced planning software, especially Primavera P6.
- Solid foundation in construction scheduling, cost control, and delay analysis, including drafting EOT claims.
- Acquainted with both local and international construction standards and best practices.
- Familiarity with major ERP systems; SAP proficiency considered a strong asset.
- Advanced knowledge of engineering, contract management, procurement, and the construction life cycle process.
Eligibility & Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related Engineering field required.
- Professional certification – MMUP Engineer Registration (UPDA) or Project Management Professional (PMP) is desirable.
