About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Engineering Project Manager for a fixed-term 12-month contract to lead and manage a variety of engineering projects within our Capital Works program. This critical role involves ensuring projects align with our engineering standards while contributing to strong financial returns. Collaboration with teams such as engineering, manufacturing, quality, and regulatory is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support a portfolio of capital projects within the company's annual budget.
- Ensure execution aligns with company engineering standards and work practices.
- Analyze workforce usage, facility layouts, production schedules, and costs to optimize resources and enhance project efficiency.
- Develop detailed project specifications for manufacturing, including materials, equipment, piping, and system layouts.
- Oversee design for material flow, capacity planning, and plant construction layouts to meet project goals, timelines, and compliance requirements.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver safe, efficient, and cost-effective solutions within project scope and budget.
- Plan and manage project resources such as labor, materials, plant, and equipment to ensure timely availability aligned with project schedules.
- Prioritize projects to maximize financial returns and reduce safety risks.
- Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across projects.
- Provide guidance to non-engineering project managers handling smaller projects within the portfolio.
- Uphold quality control standards ensuring performance goals and health and safety best practices are met.
- Collaborate with other engineering project managers and capital projects leadership to refine and streamline project delivery processes.
Skills and Experience Required
- 7 to 10 years' experience in an engineering project management capacity, preferably within dairy, FMCG, processing industries, or related fields.
- Bachelor's degree in Process, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
- Certification such as PMP, Prince2 Practitioner, or equivalent is highly preferred.
- Experience in performance specification, contract procurement, and management of process plant operations.
- Knowledge in construction, safety management, and commissioning processes is advantageous.
