Senior Database Administrator (MS SQL)

About the Role

Elite HR Services is hiring a Senior Database Administrator with deep Microsoft SQL Server expertise for a US-based healthcare company in Ahmedabad. This role focuses on building reliable data solutions, keeping database systems fast and secure, and supporting reporting and ETL needs across teams.

What You’ll Do

• Build and support advanced T-SQL queries, stored procedures, views, functions, and other database components.
• Investigate slow queries and heavy database workloads, then improve their performance.
• Design, maintain, and refine ETL workflows with SSIS and tailored T-SQL-based solutions.
• Apply indexing, table partitioning, and other tuning methods to keep SQL Server performing efficiently.
• Develop and update reports through SSRS, or connect SQL Server data to tools like Power BI and Tableau.
• Protect data quality by ensuring accuracy, consistency, integrity, and reliability across systems.
• Work closely with application teams and business users to deliver data solutions aligned with business needs.
• Handle DBA tasks such as backups, restores, migrations, deployments, and version-control-related support.
• Track database health and look for ongoing opportunities to improve performance and processes.
• Follow coding standards, documentation rules, and security practices to keep solutions maintainable and safe.

Required Experience and Skills

• At least 10 years of practical experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2016/2019 or newer.
• Strong background in query tuning and optimization using execution plans and indexing approaches.
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
• Experience managing large datasets, including validation and data quality controls.
• Good knowledge of database normalization and relational schema design.
• Understanding of indexing and partitioning strategies.
• Awareness of SQL Server security best practices.
• Experience with backup, recovery, and regular database maintenance.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving ability.
• Clear communication and the ability to work well with cross-functional teams.

Additional Information

Location: Ahmedabad, India. The compensation range provided for this role is INR 18,00,000 to INR 25,00,000 per year.
