About the Role
Every day, our teams at ZIWI create nutrition that significantly enhances the lives of pets worldwide. Whether involved with ingredients, operations, customers, or finance, each team member contributes to helping pets thrive globally.
Our Finance team is essential in maintaining smooth operations across our expanding international business. With multiple entities and systems in play, there is always an engaging challenge to tackle. This fixed-term position supports the team by covering a critical role during an important ERP project over an 18-month tenure.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with month-end closing activities, including the preparation and review of financial statements.
- Execute and review group financial consolidations, including intercompany eliminations.
- Produce comprehensive and insightful financial commentary for month-end reports and stakeholders.
- Assist with New Zealand tax compliance while considering implications for global entities.
- Detect, investigate, and resolve financial inconsistencies and discrepancies.
- Evaluate and enhance finance processes to increase efficiency and simplify operations.
- Maintain data accuracy across financial systems, managing imports, exports, and reconciliations.
- Collaborate with international stakeholders to collect, verify, and scrutinize financial data.
- Support audit activities and prepare the finance team for audit readiness.
Candidate Profile
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (or equivalent), preferably with training experience in a Big 4 or top-tier accounting firm and/or 2 to 3 years in a commercial setting.
- Proficient technical accounting skills, including familiarity with consolidations and audit procedures.
- Experience operating within complex, multi-entity organizations.
- Competent in Excel at an intermediate level.
- Exceptional attention to detail paired with strong analytical ability.
- A proactive problem solver who demonstrates ownership and ensures completion of tasks.
- Effective communicator able to engage, question, and collaborate across teams.
- Resilient and pragmatic, able to perform well in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
