Role Overview

The Security Analyst I in our Managed Services team plays a pivotal role in delivering security solutions to our clients. This role requires exceeding client expectations by representing Cyderes positively and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The analyst will perform detailed investigations into security threats, utilize MITRE ATT&CK frameworks to assess customer security posture, and work primarily from our Northwest Arkansas office with a hybrid work schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate in a hybrid capacity based from the NW Arkansas office.
  • Conduct in-depth assessments and analyses across endpoints, servers, and network infrastructure.
  • Engage in threat hunting activities within client networks to detect, isolate threats, and recommend mitigations.
  • Carry out proactive security investigations to identify malicious activities within client environments.
  • Lead incident investigations and perform thorough analysis on detected threats.
  • Identify attack indicators and compromises through alerts, threat hunting, and detailed notes.
  • Apply MITRE ATT&CK framework mapping to align customer use cases with relevant tactics and techniques.
  • Utilize Google SecOps SOAR to automate investigation and incident response workflows.
  • Participate in an after-hours on-call rotation serving as Incident Controller.
  • Determine incident scope and impact on customer security.
  • Document investigation results and provide actionable security recommendations.
  • Analyze raw log data via SIEM platforms to assist in escalations and further investigations.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams and clients using Google Workspace and Slack tools.
  • Keep abreast of new and evolving cybersecurity threats and trends.
  • Report findings and status updates to Senior Operations leadership.

Candidate Requirements

  • Must be able to work in a hybrid setup from our NW Arkansas office.
  • Minimum of one year of progressive experience in IT security.
  • Experience managing Windows, Linux/Unix, or macOS systems.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts and ability to analyze network artifacts.
  • Proficiency with Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) tools, such as Cortex XDR, SentinelOne, CrowdStrike, or Microsoft Defender.
  • Familiarity with at least one major SIEM platform like Google SecOps, Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, Elastic, IBM QRadar, or Chronicle.
  • Experience with SOAR platforms, specifically Google SecOps SOAR.
  • Knowledge of cloud security posture management (CSPM) tools such as Wiz.
  • Comfortable working professionally with Google Workspace (Gmail, Chat, Meet) and Slack.
  • At least one industry certification (e.g., Security+, CEH, OSCP, or SANS certifications such as GCIH, GCIA, GSEC, GMON) or actively pursuing certification.
  • Basic scripting or programming skills in languages like Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, or Bash.
