Role Overview

The hiring team is seeking an experienced SAS Platform Administrator to support enterprise SAS environments. This position is based in Chennai and Bangalore, and the role may require an early 7:00 AM start. Candidates should have solid experience across SAS platform administration, Red Hat/Linux systems, security, monitoring, and infrastructure support.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer enterprise SAS 9.x platforms, ideally SAS 9.4, across multi-tier environments.
• Manage SAS metadata and work with SAS Management Console for administration tasks.
• Support the SAS application stack, including metadata, web, application, and compute server components.
• Perform Linux and Red Hat Enterprise Linux system administration activities.
• Handle SAS platform security, performance optimization, backup, recovery, and storage-related support.
• Implement and maintain monitoring mechanisms to help meet platform service levels.
• Work with underlying data centre infrastructure such as storage, virtualization, and networking.
• Use Base SAS, Macro programming, and shell scripting as needed for platform support.
• Integrate SAS with databases and platforms such as SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Hadoop, Redshift, and SPDS.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and communicate clearly in both written and verbal form.

Required Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience as a SAS Platform Administrator in enterprise SAS environments.
• Strong understanding of multi-tier SAS architecture.
• Hands-on experience with SAS Management Console and metadata administration.
• Good working knowledge of Linux or RHEL administration.
• Practical knowledge of SAS security, tuning, backup, recovery, and storage management.
• Experience setting up monitoring for enterprise platforms and service-level expectations.
• Familiarity with Base SAS, Macro programming, and Linux shell scripting.
• Experience connecting SAS with enterprise databases and big-data platforms.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• SAS Certified Platform Administrator certification or an equivalent credential.
• Experience working in ITIL-based service management environments.
