About The Role

This position is dedicated to delivering expert guidance and support on reward and benefits policies across Vodacom Group's operating companies. It entails collaborating closely with HR and Reward divisions to align with core reward processes and acts as the International Mobility Champion for the entire group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee remuneration and benefit policies adherence across all Vodacom operating entities.
  • Ensure practices are compliant with local legislation, statutory regulations, and tax obligations.
  • Maintain alignment with Vodacom Group and Vodafone remuneration strategies and philosophies.
  • Advise on and develop localized reward and benefit policies for operating companies.
  • Support annual reward reviews, short-term and long-term incentive schemes.
  • Educate and ensure HR and reward teams understand Vodacom's reward principles and strategy.
  • Offer comprehensive support for critical reward programs and processes.
  • Lead the Vodacom Assignee Management process and champion international mobility initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Finance to validate and track assignee expenses accurately.
  • Manage the entire intra-Africa assignee workflow.
  • Train line managers and HR business partners on assignee management procedures.
  • Conduct training across Vodacom Group for HR teams regarding international mobility processes and policies.
  • Maintain precise reporting and ensure SAP Employee Central records are updated for assignees.
  • Coordinate relevant tax services and serve as liaison for external tax providers supporting assignees.
  • Administer all Vodacom Group recognition programs.

Candidate Profile

  • Possess a tertiary qualification (degree or diploma) in HR or Finance from a recognized institution.
  • Have between 5 to 8 years of solid experience in compensation management or data analysis.
  • Certification as a South African Reward Association (SARA) Global Reward Practitioner is advantageous.

Essential Competencies and Experience

  • Strong numerical aptitude, advanced analytical abilities, and proficiency with Excel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proven capability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and senior leadership.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Solid relationship-building and project management capabilities.
  • Ability to influence and gain credibility at senior management levels.
  • Self-motivated and proactive in task management.
  • Ability to prioritize workload under pressure, including managing others’ tasks.
  • Good knowledge of employee tax, some corporate tax elements, and legal compliance related to rewards.
  • Aware of trends in rewards and benefits and anticipate future business impacts.
  • Experience analyzing remuneration surveys within Vodacom markets.
  • Proficient in using HR databases and IT systems.
  • Experience developing and implementing reward policies, including managing change.
  • Familiarity with reward and benefits structures in Africa is a plus.
  • Experience in international mobility and expatriate management is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of job evaluation methodologies.
