About the Role
Join Essex County Council as a Residential Worker at Bridgemarsh Residential Home in Chelmsford. This is a permanent, full-time position offering an annual salary between A326284 and A333256. The role requires a flexible approach to shift work due to the 24/7 nature of the service. Visa sponsorship is not provided, so applicants must have an unrestricted legal right to work in the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist individuals to achieve maximum independence and personal control as outlined in their care plans.
- Support clients in engaging with social and recreational activities including college, community access, and resource centers.
- Monitor daily emotional and overall wellbeing of residents, ensuring safeguarding and reporting concerns promptly to senior management.
- Promote choice, dignity, and privacy in accordance with care plans and relevant guidelines.
- Maintain respectful and professional interactions with adults, their families, visitors, and team members both within the home and community.
- Carry out accurate, legible documentation in line with Care Quality Commission standards, supporting Adult Social Care quality.
- Meet individual and team objectives under performance management systems.
Required Skills and Experience
- Qualifications at RQF Level 3 (GCSE) or equivalent experience, with commitment to obtain certification within 24 months if not already held.
- Proven experience working in social care settings within team environments.
- Strong communication proficiencies enabling engagement with diverse populations.
- Understanding of person-centered care focusing on dignity, privacy, and choice.
- Familiarity with legislation regarding vulnerable adults and mental capacity, including relevant policies and procedures.
- Willingness to complete mandatory training including Manual Handling, First Aid Awareness, Food Hygiene, Risk and Conflict Management, Data Protection, and Health and Safety.
