Resident Engineer – Civil

Role Summary

We are looking for a Resident Engineer – Civil with significant experience to join our site supervision team working on Water and Wastewater infrastructure initiatives. This contract-based, onsite position offers a pivotal role within a growing, progressive Irish company that values efficient processes and high-quality project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the Resident Engineers' team and act as liaison with the Employer’s Representative.
• Manage on-site contractual issues and interface coordination between contracts involved in the work.
• Engage with stakeholders effectively to facilitate project progress.
• Evaluate contractor claims and payment applications, producing detailed reports and assessments.
• Monitor contractor performance versus contractual key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Review contractor method statements and technical submissions, providing clear and precise feedback.
• Assess contractor design proposals against employer standards and document reviews.
• Supervise construction activities, maintain accurate records, manage correspondence, and oversee contractual documentation.
• Assume additional responsibilities as assigned within the scope of the project.

Requirements

• A Civil Engineering degree is mandatory.
• At least seven years of post-graduate experience, including a minimum of five years in on-site supervision, contract administration, and project management of civil engineering works.
• Experience with construction of water and wastewater treatment plants, pipelines, pumping stations, deep excavations, marine outfalls, civil structures, or comparable infrastructure.
• Proven ability to write clear, concise reports and maintain meticulous work records.
• Competence in computer use for document management and reporting, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
• A full, clean driving license is required.
• Knowledge of construction contracts and quality assurance management systems is essential.
• Strong communication, organizational, and coordination skills with an eye for detail.
