Role Overview
We seek a Regulatory Manager to provide practical and commercially viable regulatory advice, ensuring our products, packaging artwork, and claims adhere to the FSANZ Food Standards Code, New Zealand regulatory requirements, and internal company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance by substantiating and approving claims related to nutrition content, health, ingredients, and marketing, aligned with FSANZ Food Standards Code.
- Review, support, and act as a principal approver for artwork and creative materials linked to product packaging.
- Collaborate with Research & Development and Marketing teams, delivering regulatory insights during New Product Development and project gate meetings.
- Provide strategic leadership on labeling changes, monitor emerging regulatory landscapes, and advise senior leadership on regulatory implications.
- Represent Goodman Fielder in interactions with government regulators (MPI, FSANZ, Commerce Commission, Ministry of Health), industry groups (NZFGC, FMCG NZ), and technical committees, including preparing submissions for consultations.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrated technical expertise in Food Science or Technology, including sound knowledge of food legislation such as FSANZ.
- Proven experience in regulatory affairs with a practical application mindset.
- Experience with consumer law is advantageous.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills to effectively engage both internal teams and external parties.

Location for this position is Auckland, New Zealand with full-time onsite work expected.
