The Workplace Injury Commission (WIC) is a Victorian Government statutory authority dedicated to assisting injured workers and employers to resolve disputes and progress with their lives. Based in Melbourne, WIC offers rewarding work in a positive culture with strong support systems.
Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced Recruitment Specialist to join our People & Culture team on a part-time basis (0.8 FTE) for a 12-month fixed term. This role includes a blend of onsite and work-from-home arrangements. You will be instrumental in managing the full recruitment lifecycle and ensuring an efficient, fair, and inclusive recruitment process that delivers high-quality hires.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end recruitment for a variety of roles from vacancy approval through to onboarding.
- Advise hiring managers on recruitment practices, timelines, and best approaches.
- Coordinate job advertisements, candidate sourcing, screening, shortlisting, scheduling interviews, conducting pre-employment checks, and preparing offers.
- Promote and support merit-based, inclusive, and equitable selection procedures.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate recruitment records and documentation.
- Utilize Applicant Tracking Systems and HR information systems to manage recruitment activities.
- Contribute to recruitment metrics, workforce analytics, and initiatives for continuous process improvement.
- Ensure candidates and hiring managers experience a professional, responsive, and engaging recruitment journey.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a talented recruitment professional who thrives in building connections between candidates and meaningful opportunities. You are highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to juggle multiple recruitment campaigns with a strong commitment to compliance and quality. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills paired with emotional intelligence are essential.
- Proven track record of executing end-to-end recruitment successfully.
- Strong familiarity with current talent acquisition methods, sourcing strategies, and candidate engagement.
- Understanding of equitable and merit-based recruitment principles.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Proficient in using recruitment and HR information systems, including ATS platforms.
- Commitment to providing exceptional candidate and hiring manager experiences.
- Ability to manage competing priorities without compromising compliance or accuracy.
- Dedication to ongoing learning and professional growth.
- Experience within Victorian Public Sector or regulatory environments is highly regarded.
